The game is being created in GameMaker Studio if I understand your question correctly. The original web version of Boss 101 was created in Stencyl and outputted as a Flash game.
We're pretty excited with GameMaker we can output to PC, Xbox and the PlayStation systems.
Thanks for the comment!

Its a cool idea to make a scanner hat like that.
Still, you need to find the secret within the stage with the hat, right?
Is it possible to complete a stage with the hat, and NOT finding the secret?

Thank you and the answer to your question is yes, you can finish a stage with the scanner and not find the hat. We are going to take extra care to explain the whole process to the player in easy terms. The short story is the scanner hat has a chance to detect a secret. You will be able to purchase "better" scanner hats in the game's stores using in-game money from bosses you beat. The idea is we want people to have access to the secrets as early as possible so we give them a scanner hat "on the cheap".
You could theoretically find all the secret stuff with the lowliest scanner but you would be dealing with playing more rounds of the game. If you went and upgraded your scanner you would greatly increase your chances to find the secrets.
That's the working theory behind all of it anyway. The real deal will be the playtesting to see how it all feels to new and experienced players.
Thanks for the question and the look!
